Driver's Escort Program

The Driver's Escort Program utilizes volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles to provide door to door service within Rusk County and beyond to destinations like the Minneapolis Airport. Wheelchair equipped vehicles are available if rrequired.

Fares are based on distance and range from:
$26 to Cornell
$69 to Eau Claire
$107 to Marshfield
$201 to Rochester, MN

Cori (left) has worked with ITS for about a year. Cori is the dispatcher – receiving calls for riders and assigning drivers in the City of Ladysmith.

Sheryl (center) is the Operations Manager of ITS. She has worked for ITS for several years and is responsible for the overall operation of the ITS systems.

Sheli (right) is a clerical worker and Drivers Escort Scheduler. She has worked for ITS for less than a year.

Jim has worked for ITS for about a year. Jim’s previous experience includes serving in the ARMY, construction work and 27 years with the City of Ladysmith – the last 11 years as a street department lead man. He enjoys helping people that ride the ITS bus service.

Mary has worked for ITS for 3 years. Her previous experience includes software engineering and driving for a transit service in Chicago. Mary enjoys the people she interacts with as a driver.

Ed has worked for ITS for 11 years. His past experience includes working as a forge operator at Presto in Eau Claire, welding at the paper mill, building bridges and working as a security guard. He enjoys interacting with the people who ride his bus and gets a lot of satisfaction working with the Westlake industries riders.

Mark has worked for ITS for less than a year. His past work experience includes long haul truck driving, dairy farming and working in a recycling center. He enjoys providing transit service in the north woods.

John has worked for ITS for less than a year. John's past experience includes serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, driving over-the–road trucking east and west across the U.S. He has also been a production worker but loves to drive. He enjoys meeting and getting to know people and helping them with their transportation needs.

Nick as worked for ITS for about a year. Nick experience includes painting cars, working the Chrysler Corporation, operating fork lifts and engine building. He also worked in food services with head start programs and senior services. He enjoys driving and working with ITS riders.

Mel has worked with ITS for about a year. He also works on call for DNR wild land fire fighting. His past experience includes working for Bader Ammunition, Weathershield and Ace hardware. Mel retired from the Ladysmith Police Department in 2001 and enjoys providing needed transportation and assistance to others in Ladysmith and Rusk County. .

Patti has worked with ITS for less than a year. She has been a stay-at-home mom, worked at Artisans, Inc and attended WITC and worked in a medical related field. She enjoys being a driver and finds the people she meets interesting.

Karen works part time at ICAA as an late afternoon dispatcher. She works at Rockwell Automation and has been a school bus driver and a driver for ICAA transit. She enjoys her part-time job at ICAA as a break from her normal work schedule.

Levi has been with ITS for less than a Year. Levi is the ITS mechanical systems engineer. He maintains the bus fleet, works on county vehicles, forestry vehicles and other Indianhead Community Action Agency Vehicles. Levi past experience includes heavy equipment operator, machinist/ welder, truck driver, crane operator, chef, electrician, plumber and mechanic. Levi enjoys knowing the he is helping to make a difference in the community.
