Victor’s* Story: I have always loved working with people, and wanted to get into geriatric care, but most Assisted living centers, nursing homes, and hospitals require certification for their employees. I did not have the means to pay for schooling, so I put my future on hold for many years. I had a very hard time finding an organization that could help fund my schooling.
Then, this summer, I was put in touch with ICAA’s Skills Enhancement program. The program helped to pay not only my tuition for school, but also helped pay for childcare and mileage. Skills Enhancement assisted me in bettering my future. This opened up new opportunities for me to further my life and start a career in geriatric care.
