Promoting Housing Stability for Low-income Veteran Families
How do we help? ICAA’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides temporary financial assistance and case management to help veteran’s and their families find or keep safe, stable housing or emergency housing. Financial assistance may include rent, security deposits, utilities, moving costs, child care, and transportation. Case management may include housing referrals and referrals to other services.
Who is eligible? Residents of Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Oneida, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas and Washburn counties who meet all of the following criteria may be eligible for SSVF services:
- Individuals who have served in the military on active duty, regardless of length of service, and have anything other than a dishonorable discharge.
- Individuals who are low income (not more than 50% of are annual median income).
- Individuals who are homeless (per HUD definitions), or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring that impacted veterans, service members, their families, and their caregivers thrive long after they return home.
