Business Development Tax Professional

Indianhead Community Action Agency is looking for the right candidate to fill the Business Development Tax Professional position and join our nonprofit team! This is currently a full-time position with benefits including life, health, and dental insurance; paid time off; paid holidays; tax-sheltered annuity; and flexible work schedules.

We are looking for Business Development Tax Professional to support small businesses in their endeavors through guidance, compliance, and support for taxes and tax processes.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Proactively interact with clients to gather information, resolve tax-related issues, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Execute and review returns for tax clients, including federal estimated payments and extensions
  • Develop client presentations for engagement-related activities to expand or engage prospective clients
  • Audit basic-to-complex tax provisions
  • Develop and sustain excellent client relationships and assist in business development efforts
  • High level of demonstrated technical proficiency to review the areas of client engagement management and applied technical knowledge in individual, trust, partnership, corporate, federal, state, and local tax returns, estimated payments and extensions, and federal and state tax audits
  • Stay current on the latest tax developments, trends, and legislation
  • Review tax returns and projects and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Provide tax compliance and advisory services for a variety of small business clients
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of tax computations and tax returns
  • Responsible for handling assignments and providing guidance related to tax compliance and tax planning
  • Completes processes to help clients mitigate risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, and realize business goals
  • Maximizes results and drives high performance from people while fostering collaboration across businesses
  • Participate in professional education and development activities

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Business Administration, or related field. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, current vehicle insurance. Strong organizational and record keeping skills required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and its applications. Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Starting Wage: $75,000/year
